Volunteers preparing art supplies in a community hall

Good listening is a valuable skill

Potential volunteer contributions include creative activity support, preparing materials, sharing career perspectives, helping organize community information, and supporting future events. These are areas of interest, not advertised openings. Reach out to ask what is currently needed.

A thoughtful process.
A shared responsibility.

  1. Introduce yourself. Share your interests, relevant experience, and general availability.
  2. Discuss the fit. Ask about responsibilities, boundaries, training, and supervision.
  3. Complete required review. Youth-facing roles must have appropriate screening and safeguarding arrangements before participation.

Respect, reliability, and boundaries

Young people deserve consistent, respectful relationships. Volunteers should honor cultural differences, protect personal information, and follow approved communication and supervision practices. An inquiry does not create a volunteer placement or authorize direct contact with participants.

Community grows
through connection.

Make a local idea more possible

Partnership conversations can begin with a shared question: what would help young people feel more connected here? We welcome inquiries about spaces, creative learning, family resource navigation, career exploration, and youth-led storytelling. No partnership is implied by the examples on this page.

Schools & libraries

Explore welcoming spaces, activity ideas, and clear routes for families to ask about opportunities.

Cultural & community groups

Bring local knowledge and help shape experiences that respect different histories and ways of belonging.

Businesses & creatives

Discuss materials, practical skill sharing, or responsible support for future learning experiences.

What to include in your introduction

Tell us your organization’s name, your local connection, the opportunity you have in mind, and any relevant timing or access considerations. We can then discuss scope, responsibilities, consent, and whether the idea fits current capacity.
